Herpes virus at the chelonian stock -what can be done?
Prophylaxis against transmission and disinfection methods

Abstract

After explaining the horizontal transmission spread of the herpes virus and the general shape of the virus, methods of prophylaxis against transmission to other groups are shown. Necessary measures for hibernation of infected and non-infected animals are described. Possible disinfection measures for indoor and outdoor enclosures are given and differences between disinfection under laboratory conditions and under real conditions are shown. Parts of the terraria or materials that are impossible to disinfect are identified.
